Today’s Word:

In Daniel 6, the other officials used flattery to deceive King Darius, appealing to his ego in order to trap Daniel. The king’s pride almost cost Daniel his life, even though he cared about him. This story is a powerful reminder:
Flattery can be a dangerous tool when it comes with hidden agendas.

True encouragement builds, uplifts, and comes from sincerity. But flattery, when used to manipulate, is a trap wrapped in sweet words. If we are not firmly rooted in who we are in God’s eyes, needing constant praise can cloud our judgment and cause us to make decisions we later regret.

God already says who you are: valuable, chosen, loved, and created for a purpose. You don’t need human validation to confirm your worth.
When someone’s words seem overly sweet, pause and pray. Trust God’s wisdom to help you discern the heart behind the words.

Stay wise. Stay grounded. Know that your worth comes from heaven, not human approval.

Prayer For Today

“God, thank You that my identity is secure in You and not dependent on human opinions. Help me to walk in discernment, to recognize sincerity, and to stay free from the traps of flattery and manipulation. I trust You to guide my steps. Amen.”
