Today’s Word
Joseph, falsely accused and imprisoned for thirteen years, experienced what Scripture describes as his soul “entering into the iron.” In that dark place, he gained strength and perseverance—qualities he could never have developed otherwise—to one day lead a nation.
Esther, an orphan in a foreign land, felt abandoned and unseen, yet God positioned her to save the people of Israel. Elijah, after a great mountain-top victory, sank into such deep despair that he wished to die—yet he remains one of the great heroes of faith.
Some lessons can only be learned in the dark places. Do not dwell on the unfairness, the betrayals, or the discomfort. Even when it feels heavy, it is shaping you, refining you, and making you stronger. Light is beautiful, but it is in the shadows where the deepest roots grow. A life without opposition may sound peaceful, but it will never bring you to your highest potential.
Prayer for Today
God, thank You for blessing me even in life’s darkest seasons. Thank You that what was meant for harm will be turned for my good. I trust that You are strengthening me and preparing me to reach my full potential. My hope remains in You. Amen.
